There’s no place like home…

Back in Truckee, safely. A long stretch of driving over..
Saw a lot of water, saved some for later.
Fished the Trinity, Smith, and Chetco rivers.
Fish 4, Jim 0.
That’s late season Steel heading.
They say it’s a fish of a thousand casts.
I made maybe Five Hundred.
Watched some Spawners, saw “fish trails” on the bottom.
Heard about a Twenty-pounder the day before I arrived.
Coastal rivers have much magic.

Sat for several hours on the overlook at the Bar on the Klamath river.
Hadn’t seen the Ocean for twenty-five years.
Colossal forces at work where river meets sea.
I saw it at River’s low flow, Ocean’s low tide, on a calm blue bird day.
No place to go swimming.
Make a point to walk out on the bar if you ever drive that way.
Snowing lightly on the T.
Good to be back….
