Dropped to 12 deg. or so last night…
The rotten snow is gone, with a slight dusting on crusty.
No need for snowshoes now….
Some brave soul drove into the parking lot at Glennshire.
That says the snow has condensed quite a bit.
I’ll walk in to avoid needing a tow…
Looks like three days of fishiness coming up.
Flows have cleared up, and come down slightly.
Had a couple of folks out, and all got a fish.
Missed a bunch though…..
I get to see many missed fish.
It’s a down-side of being a guide.
The fish here are fast grabbers.
You need to be gunfighter fast too!
Practice down-stream sets, before you come….if possible.
Heck, even dreaming about it may help….
Most folks set vertically and up-stream.
Takes it right away from them….
It helps a lot to develop this as muscle memory prior to our trip.
A different set direction, depending which side of the water you are on…..
The time it takes you to learn it on the day, will most likely be fish-less….
Which is not the point of this activity…..
Lots of critters out and about, making use of the fine weather.
I’ll be going out too.
Gotta practice my sets……
More later…..
