Skwallas…

I awoke to fog and sparse snow flakes, then watched it turn to rain, then back to snow, and back to rain…….
“The horror”…. Marlon Brando said it best…..
Dress for excess, and go fishing is my Moto….
Or one of them anyway..

Ok!!!!
I saw them on the water yesterday….Skwalla Stone flies…
Some of my favorite dry fly fishing of the year, may be about to happen….
Or not…
You just never know in this biz.
They (The females) will wait for the next warm day to Ovi-posit.
Fish have been nibbling on little sushi-bits all Winter.
The multi-year fish are r-r-ready for a double cheeseburger with bacon…
Floating in the shallows are the first big food form of the season.
The bugs ride very low in the water.
And are black on black, so very hard to see.
I recommend mud on your leader (3x), and a very sneaky approach.
Big browns love these bugs, maybe more than big bows.
Just something to think about……
Good hunting..
