I am going to call it.
Today was the first day of Spring.
I pay attention to nature, not a calendar.
Just after dawn, I stepped onto the porch with a cup of joe, and was greeted by the first Robin (They do get the worm.).
Then, I listened to Che-e-ese burger birds… and Whiteheaded woodpeckers drumming to different drummers.
But….when I arrived at the water, there were mated pairs of both Mountain Bluebirds, and Killdeers.
They can’t all be wrong.
Then My client and I Tagged the first fish of the year on dries. Sz 20 BWOs….(Burk’s silhouette dun.)

Skwallas are on the water in the PM.
Bring some……locally sold out til Friday.
Today was so hot, we sought shade on our break.
Barely freezing at night.
There is too much warm bare ground, for a full return of Winter.
But, don’t put away your winter stuff just yet…..

Water temp late today was 47.
Truckee was flowing green/clear and beautiful.
Bring your sunscreen…..
