Things are going well up here….My nature moment yesterday was sharing a Glossy Boa with clients.
I hadn’t seen one in a few years, and had heard from a herpetologist they are scarce. Beautiful critter, coco colored and so docile.                                                                             Must be spring if the reptiles are out. Don’t worry about the bad snakes up here, doesn’t seem to be any…

March browns were popping yesterday, mid-day. Not a nose to be seen…..stick with sub-surface offerings….try soft hackles and nymphs.                                                             Tricos made an appearance as well. Drown them….                                                                  The number of possible food forms on the menu  has expanded dramatically.                 Both aquatic, and terrestrial. Do a seine habitually every few hours, to reduce guessing….    If no takes after a few drifts, change it up….keep moving too. One thing you learn fishing the Truckee, is to hit and run……flogging a pool for an hour, does not increase one’s chances.

Flows are up a bit, and green/clear. 56-57 deg. Still a little chilly for wet wading….           Not much fishing pressure yet, but weekends are picking up.                                              Hope you enjoy your time out on the water.
