Prime time….

This is the time to play.
Flowers are blooming,

A sure sign of Spring.

A sure sign of Spring.

birds are birding…
Fish are fishing…..
The river is perfect.
Flows are about 300 cfs. near town.
Clear/green and 59-60 deg.
The dominant bug right now, are little yellow Crane flies. (Try a sz 18 psyco prince a “little yeller feller”.)
Some March Browns are still around too.
As clouds pass, there are some BWOs.
Cream Caddis are flyin’ towards evening.
Midges are year-round food. Try wind skating a sz 24 over a riser….cream and darker too.
Saw my first Grass hopper yesterday! (The very large over-Winter female. The Mother of all hoppers….)
The flying Ants have flown…try drowning a black or red/black epoxy.
Water is very clear in slow stretches, and fish are shopping closely.
Fish are more than a little spooky.
Fast water is a better close approach.
It’s slowly sliding to more early and late fishing, instead of high-noon.
We are almost to Summer, it’s coming early…..
Flows will be LOW and WARM later….
The one good thing about a drought (yes we are in one) is almost no mosquitoes!
Fish now!
