Finally looking like Fall.
Overcast and drizzling today.
Fishiness is in the air.
A little more of this, the water temps will drop.
Flows are pushy with the added release from Donner Lake.
Green/clear, and 59-60 at dawn.
More importantly, it’s cooler at the end of the day.
Maxed out at 64 last evening.
Fish are starting to spread out again.
Not all bunched in the foam/cascades.
Saw my first October Caddis night before last.
Only one, but they are coming.
A few other Caddis too.
Fewer Golden stone shucks.
Seeing small Mayflies.
BWOs, Baetis, Isonichia doing their mating flights.
Midges……
And when it’s warm……..Hoppers.
Many small fry in the shallows, it’s worth swinging a streamer, sz 4-6.
There was a short pause, and now the phone is a ringing.
Thought maybe folks forgot that the Fall is the time to fish, not Summertime.
I wait all year for this time……Join me!
Time to talk with Walter Brown-Trout.
Just love the looks I get from our finny homies!
Hook a big one, and you will see that look.
Treat them nice if you do, maybe catch him again next year.
Enjoy!
