A quiet little drizzle last night.
Beautiful sunny days right now, but cooler and with some clouds…..
Snow level is 6500 ft, A dusting on the Sierra Crest.
Breezy in the afternoon…. 68 deg-AM 38 deg-PM
Fishing is picking up.
All my fishing friends, that went out during the last storm, caught fish.
It may be tempting to wait for clear and warm weather.
But fish like the weather funky.
Get a good coat, gloves, fleece hat, and go get’um.
It’s only going to get colder…..and snowy.
And, it’s a long time till spring……….
Leaves are changing quickly, Aspens are yellow and trembling…..
I heard a Mnt. Bluebird sing a sad song two days ago, haven’t seen him since.
Guess it’s time to fly south.
The geese are gone as well.
The woods are getting quiet.
The water level has dropped on the upper river.
Letting more flow out of Little Truckee at Boca.
Lower river is nice, much cooler than it has been.
Fish know Winter is coming, and are bulking up to spawn.
The big bites, are Hoppers, Oct. Caddis, and a mix of mayflies (BWO, Mahogany duns, sm dark Baetis.).
Streamers are getting a chase too.
As always, keep moving and cover water.
This is the time of year to catch your fish of dreams.
See you out there.
Edit…
It is pelting out there right now.
Very small graulet. (Hail)
It is the time of year to bring game, who knows what you will find.
Blue skies, or serious stuff.
Bring a coat….
