Fall is fine…

Much of the color has gone from the trees…
Starting to get that gray Wintertime look.
Up high, there is just enough snow to slide on.
Don’t bring your good board/boards yet….
Not much snow in town.
Shoulder season is underway.
All the water you want to fish.

Water is getting colder. 49-50 deg. Low/clear.
Time to bring more fleece to wear under your waders, and extra socks too….
Bring back-up clothes, just in case.
A wind breaker is crucial to comfort.

Found a pod of risers yesterday with a client.
It’s nice when the Truckee shares the love.
Dark Baetis sz20. Burk’s Silhouette Dun did the job.(Blackened)
Baetis nymph too….
Mahogany Duns ascending….
Midges, as always…
A few Caddis..
Still chasing streamers, just not as far….
Not so much a dawn attack now.
Mid-morning seems best, along with mid-afternoons.

People are always asking me when they should come fish the Truckee?
Like I could pick the weekend…..
My advise is always the same, fish now!
