Thought I’d give a snow report……Grim.
Told someone a couple weeks ago, that this is the worst year I’ve seen since 1976.
Yesterday, I heard that it is actually a worse year….A new record…..
This is the third year of a drought by my calculations.
Fishing will be tougher this year than last, unless we have a rally winter.
If you are going to fish this coming year, plan on fishing early season….
Flows are very low now, and gin clear.
Water temp was 38 deg yesterday, air 45…
Midges were all I saw on the water. (Bloody Midges)
A friend had a fish urp-up his dinner while he landed him.
Stuffed full of Midges..
Try Micro-mays, maybe a dark golden stone, Skwalla nymph, or a worm as well….
Shore ice has diminished, getting around is easy.
As always, have studded boots, maybe a staff, and extra clothes in case…
I’ve been booking trips at an increasing rate.
Folks take one look at the ski slopes, and immediately think fishing….
Nominated yesterday as one of the twelve best days of the year.
