This is the time of year that life returns to the mountains….The Geese are paired and nesting. Along with all the other birds bustling about calling for a mate.
Haven’t heard them for six months……
The grass is greening, alders are budding, it feels like we may have turned a corner on Spring.
May still get a blast next week, but I’m betting on Spring.
Water is very clear and hovering near 50 deg. Low winter flows….
No rafting flows this year, so we won’t be enduring 8-raft pods.
It also may prevent the river dropping below the natural rim on Tahoe.
Going to get warm quickly, so fish now!!!!!!!
The bows are spawning colors and feisty. Browns are hungry……..
Not crazy about fishing eggs myself, but this is the time for ham and eggs.
When I use my bug seine now, there is more food every day.
