Flows….

Lake levels are very low, so releases are from near the lake bottom….
Off color water is the result.
Above Boca Lake it’s clear and a nice flow around 100cfs.
Below the confluence, it’s a funny green color, and mixes slowly down river.
The water temps have been a bit lower @ 40ish deg.
Recommend wearing an extra layer under waders….
You can dress lighter on top, so not to overheat in the sun.
Daytime temps will be near 60, but seems like 70 deg.
Chilly at dawn, near 26 deg, then warms rapidly.
Dress in layers to stay comfortable.
Fishermen are all over the river flogging…….fish are spooky early this year, bring your ninja skills.
The bugs took the last couple days off, due to passing weather.
Should be back this week in numbers…
Small bugs like Midges still working occasionally, mostly subsurface…
A few Baetis but not all over the river, find them……and do better.
Keep an eye/ear peeled for biggy rises when the Skwallas appear again.
I would pick Thurs/Fri as best this week, some clouds coming…
But I’ll check the other days to be sure………..
Wanted to inform…..Mountain Blue birds showed up this week, that means Spring is here for sure……
Water is already looking low……
I think the state will have to add a higher level of drought to their list….I suggest “Dire“.
