Getting with it…..

It is time….
The conditions are so nice right now.
I sought shade for the first time, a definite sign of spring.
As are Mountain Chickadee singing “Cheeeeese Burger”.
Flows are up a bit with spring melt. A bit pushy, maybe bring a staff.
A little color green/clear.
The fish are so feisty and athletic it’s amazing.
Skwalla were are still out and about.
A good drift is required, the fish are shopping carefully, but still buying them…Mud your leader….
It’s been almost four weeks, the longest emergence I’ve ever seen….
The March browns mayflies are sporadic and not evenly distributed.
More Baetis by far, mid morning, is best. JUJUs are a good choice. Burk’s Silhouette Dun sz20.
Midges still a big/small part of the menu too.
Speckled Caddis are slowly becoming more common.
Carpenter Ants will fly soon….
Crayfish have shown up recently as well.
Days are warm, water is still chilly, I’d rate it P….for perfect.
You can catch fish in any style….but if you are mostly a dry-fly guy, it’s currently working….
It feels like May, in March, do not wait till Summer.
Fish now…..
