My name is Jim Landis, and I’ll be your guide on California State waters. Operating out of Truckee CA. and specializing in fishing the Truckee River.
I also range about on the Eastern side of the Sierra Nevada, primarily, East walker, Owens river. I also enjoy showing folks the western side of the range as well.
Covering the Yuba, American, and lower Sacramento rivers.
I can provide instruction in a variety of fly fishing styles.
Dry fly, Nymphing, and Streamer fishing, are all applied to conditions we encounter.
At times, we cover several styles in one day.
I also offer Switch rod instruction, both skagit and indicator style.
The switch rod is a great tool for covering more water with less effort, as well as handling bigger water/fish.
Because of challenging angling conditions on the Truckee, it is a great river to hone your game.
My goal is to provide an enjoyable angling experience, whether beginner, or seasoned veteran. Each trip is different, shaped by individual needs.
