Timing…..

We suffered for 3 days with an East wind…I “dislike” the tear producing, knife-like cold….
Day before yesterday, skim ice was forming in the shallows, and guides were freezing up.
Yesterday the wind went West, the Baetis started coming off, and the fish started rising again!
It was late afternoon, shade on the water, and my buddy and I traded drifts with sz 20 Baetis dries.
A fish a drift was the norm, OK, maybe two drifts, even if it had been 3 drifts……it was still fun.
Watch the weather to see what’s going on before you come up.
“Warm before the storm” is the key.
The next couple days should be good, then we will get a little blast, say 5 minutes of snow…….
Then the wind will go East as the storm passes.
Right after it goes West again, GO FISH!!!!!
